Window Ac: Look Forward to Chilling Summers

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Sweaty and sticky summers and the intense heat wave not only make us despise the season, but make us wonder why we are worst suffers of this weather. Sometimes we have no choice but to blame the working of God, at times we fret at the callousness of Nature. However, if we are equipped with a Window air conditioner then the harsh weather will not be able to get the better out of us. Window AC can be associated with comfort and luxury. These Ac’s can be fitted in the bedroom or any other room. These portable air conditioners are adaptable in terms of weight as they can easily be fixed and removed whenever required. Once the season has bid adieu the owner can also keep it away without any hassle. Those who are in the process of purchasing an AC should take note of the unit and the space where it will be accommodated. The cooling capacity of any air conditioner is measured in British Thermal Units. The higher the BTU will be in proportion with higher cooling capacity. Another factor to be considered is the EER ratio present in an AC. The ratio is of the consumption power and cooling capacity. If an air conditioner has a higher ratio level then it is believed that it is favourable for the atmosphere as well as for the user. Coming to the look of these air conditioners, they come in sleek and attractive looks and do no hold any resemblance with a box. They come in light shades and their corners are rather rounded. Though these air conditioners have the same components installed as central air conditioners however if one wants to cool a limited area or just one to two rooms then window AC are the appropriate choice in comparison to Split ACs. Before purchasing this kind of an air conditioner the buyer should have the accurate measurement of the window where it will be installed. Moreover, the buyer should be clear about the size of the room and the cooling capacity which will be required. If the air conditioner is not properly sized as per the demands of the room than it is quite possible that either it will be inefficient in cooling the desired space or it will have a tendency to cycle frequently. Since there is a rise in demand for these air conditioners it is common to find cheap window ACs which will fulfil the user’s basic needs. The user can also look for the best window AC available in the market.

Monday, April 5th, 2010

There is a famous saying – Money saved is money earned. So, why not explore all the options where we are able to save money. Here we discuss some Car Maintenance Tips to save money .

1)

Regular maintenance is a must for your car. Otherwise, you may have unexpected damaged parts and may have to shell out a lot of money for unnecessary and untimely repairs. So, in order to save money, go according to manufacturer’s recommended schedule for your car maintenance and get your car serviced regularly.

2)

Always make sure that you have the right air pressure in your car tyres. This point is included in your car maintenance checklist. Study it and adhere ito it, because if you have lees air pressure in your car tyres Or flat tyres, then it is going to put a lot of strain on your engine.

It is the engine, that has to produce power to run the car, and having less air in tyres means that that it has to burn more fuel in the process. So, you lose money in form of fuel.

3)

For changing parts, try to go in for original spare parts rather than the cheap duplicates. Duplicate parts would do a lot of harm and waste your money in the long run.

4)

If your car is under warranty period and something goes wrong, then make sure that you have the relevant papers and that your car is taken care of under standard guidelines of the manufacturer pertaining to warranty claims. This is one of the practical ways to save money, because; otherwise you may have to spend the entire money yourself.

Four Ways Save Money While Cooling Your Home This Summer

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

We are now approaching that time in the summer months when the blistering sun shines bright and hot all day, making everything feel as though it were happening inside of an oven. It doesn’t matter what part of the country you live in: the heat of the summer can sometimes get just a bit unbearable.

Many people retreat to their homes to take refuge from the summer heat, but whether you have window air conditioner units, central air conditioning or nothing at all sometimes a home simply doesn’t cool down the way it should. Running your air conditioner constantly for days or even weeks in a row can also be a pretty expensive proposition, especially with energy prices skyrocketting upwards.

Besides putting in more air conditioners (and raising your electric bill even more) are some extra things you can do around your home to help make it cool. Here are four ways you can help cool down your home:

Ceiling Fans: Some people think they’re ugly, but you can’t argue with the cooling results a ceiling fan when weather gets warm. Ceiling fans are available in hundreds of different styles and shapes and they’ve become quite affordable in recent years. You may need an electrician to install a ceiling fan if you don’t already have an outlet and brace in the ceiling of your room, but consider it a small price to pay for years of room cooling. Even if you have ceiling fans installed now be sure to make sure your fans are blowing in the right direction! Most ceiling fans can cool and help warm a room, based on the direction they’re turning.

Shades: Here is something else a lot of people don’t like for aesthetic reasons, but true-light blocking shades make a big impact on the temperature in your home, especially if you have large windows that face the sun during some or part of the day. Light-blocking blinds put up on windows or even in front of glass doors will cool those rooms almost instantly in the heat of the day when the sunlight it beating in.

Maintain Your Air Conditioner: Whether you have one central AC unit or several small window AC units, it’s important to maintain their peak efficiency and effectiveness by cleaning air filters, inspecting them for damage and even making sure they are properly charged with coolant. A central AC unit should probably be inspected and given the once over on an annual basis by a professional and single air conditioner units should be checked out each time they are installed or turned on for the first time in a season.

Plant A Tree: Okay, unless you plant a thirty foot shade tree in your lawn this may not help right away, but there are a number of shade trees that do grow very fast and could be providing your home shade within a year or two. Trees block a lot of that sunlight that beats down on your home all day long. If you’re walking in the hot sun and you want to cool down you go and sit in the shade, right? You can use the same principal for cooling your home: shade is cooler than sun!

By combining some of these relatively cheap and easy home cooling methods you can really reduce the amount of work your home air conditioner has to perform and in turn save a fair bit of money on your electric bill this summer!
